Perla Italian Restaurant: Authentic Italian Flavors and Elegant Dining in Glen Allen, VA

We went out to eat on Saturday with my husband, and it was truly a wonderful surprise. The restaurant has a new look: the painted walls have a starry effect, and the new pendant lights are truly elegant. We were also impressed by the table linens — very refined and tasteful. The menu has changed; it’s smaller, but at first glance it looks much healthier and very appealing. I had the gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts — absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the lasagna, and Chef Davide came to our table to explain that in Italy, lasagna is traditionally made with béchamel, not ricotta. It was absolutely fantastic! The waitstaff were kind, professional, and very well-dressed. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere made us feel like family. The soft background music also made it easy to have a nice conversation. We can’t wait to come back and try more of the new dishes!

Wonderful food and staff, Jaime and Ginny took great care of us, made sure our drinks stayed full, and provided great conversation! The food was delicious and tasted fresh, was well worth the money. Will definitely come back! Only thing I would suggest is that they dim the big ceiling lights slightly, it would probably provide a more cozy atmosphere. Right now, the feel of the lighting is similar to when the house lights come on at the end of a concert

We went to Perla today at 5 p.m. Chef Davide came to our table to make sure we made good decisions. The bread, steak and sauce were excellent, and the salads were amazing. We loved everything!

We just tried this place since they changed name to Perla under new ownership and glad we did. Just did take out pizza and man was it good! We will be back for sure!

I had seen this place on Facebook so I decided to make a trek to try it and boy, am I glad I did. We started with the Burrata. It was a beautiful dish and it tasted just as good. It was light, a perfect way to awaken the taste buds, with arugula, cherry tomatoes, Burrata and basil. Next, I had the lunch special which included a soup and personal pizza. The soup was a daily special, made with sausage, onion, cheese and broth. The server compared it to French onion soup but other than the onion and consistency, it didn't compare. It was far tastier! I'd go back just for that! I ordered a white pizza, with garlic and ricotta cheese added. Usually I like a crispy crust. This pizza needed nothing. It was delicious just as prepared. I loved everything about it! The crust tasted buttery, best I've had in a while. My husband had another lunch special, a full Italian sandwich with fries that also came with a salad. He raved over everything. I tried a fry and it was crisp and well seasoned. This place was awesome. I am going back to try other dishes but it'll be hard to pull the pizza out of my hands!!

Our waitress, Ginny, was fabulous! Very attentive and friendly. Our food was excellent. Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, Orecciette Italia, Chicken Parm, and pizza with pineapple and bacon....all were great. And the Arancini appetizer was awesome. Highly recommend Perla!

The new staff has worked hard to earn a great reputation. New foods and specials are delicious. Give it a try and I think you will love it. My swordfish was incredible

Today, I went to lunch with a group of women at Perla's for the first time. It is where "Little Angelas" was on Staples Mill Road. We had a wonderful experience there. The food was fresh and made to order. They have a nice lunch menu. You get quite a lot for your money. The food was good, and the service was OUTSTANDING. Our server, Jayme, was very professional, efficient and personable. Special requests were no problem for her. She gave great recommendations for food choices. She even told us the best way to reheat our leftovers. I don't know if she is the owner, manager, or excellent server, but we couldn't have been happier with the service.
